Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar

Hello-

I got some more goodies in the mail- Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars!

http://www.occmakeup.com/liptar.html

These are very highly pigmented lip colors and they can be easily mixed, they are more like a lip paint than a gloss.  They have a slight minty feeling on the lips, as they have peppermint oil in them, as well as hemp oil and vitamin E.  I got a few colors to try it out- Safety Orange, Feathered, Anime, Plum, Uber, Conquest, and NSFW.

Here they are on my desk!

When I say they are intense, I mean it.  And I am using HARDLY any, these are $12.50 for a reason.

Examples:

Anime

Feathered

Another really helpful tip- Put these on with a lip brush! They come with a tube that allows for lip application but being how intense these colors are, it looks better when applied more precisely.

Brushguards!

Hello!

I was looking through youtube and I came across a video by EnKoreMakeup about something called the brushguard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mDad4yNuGc

The can also be ordered at thebrushguard.com.  They're not pricey either, 5.50 per pack and FREE SHIPPING! (At least in the US)

It's a nifty  new thing for those of us who want to protect our investments (brushes) by keeping the bristles from getting messed up.

Another neat feature is that you can slide them up the handle and protect the logo from rubbing off (if you have MAC brushes like I do, this is annoying!  Too bad 2 of mine already rubbed off... T_T) .  He also mentions putting clear nail top coat over the engraving, so I did that also.

I ordered my brushguards, I will blog about them and take pics/review when they get here! ^o^

Olay Body Wash with Shea Butter

Hello!

I have another product review, which will do wonders if you have dry winter skin (like me!) and it's not expensive!

That is Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter!

I have also tried their Age-defying wash, but it has petroleum jelly in it, and I just ended up feeling greasy and my bathtub slick and slippery.   This one doesn't leave that weird slippery feeling.  I do feel significantly more moisturized, not much need for lotion after the shower when I use this.  But not only does it moisturize well, but it SMELLS SO GOOD.  It smells like something you'd get at Victoria's Secret Body.  Doesn't smell like inexpensive wash at all.

Price wisely, I think individually a big bottle is about 8 dollars, I got a 2 pack of big bottles at Costco for I think $10.  HIGHLY recommended!

My favorite perfumes...

Hello~~~

I'm finally done studying for a while.  I have reviewed a bunch of other stuff, but not perfumes yet!  So, I want to share with you my two favorite perfumes, the ones that seem to smell the best on me.

#1 (My evening/special occasion scent) Coco Mademoiselle

It smells very nice, a bit spicy and floral, but it is quite strong, which is why I wear it out at night or to somewhere special.  I have the Eau de Parfum, the bath bubbles, and the dry oil spray.  All together, the smell really lasts.  <3

#2 My every day scent- Chance Eau Fraiche

This is one of the newer scents by Chanel, I found one of those scented sample pages in a magazine, took a sniff, and I knew I HAD to have it.  It is an Eau de Toilette spray, meaning it is a bit cheaper than the Eau de Parfum, and is lighter, more suitable for the office/school/etc.  It smells like the original Chance fragrance but with a fresh "clean" smell to it.  Highly recommended!

Unfortunately on me, Chanel No. 5 smells great in the bottle, but awful with my body chemistry... :(   These smells smell good on me, maybe not for others.  The key with perfume is to find one that works well with your natural body chemistry.

Perfume wearing tips! aka how I put perfume on!

1. Spray two short bursts on the side of your neck before dressing, then let it dry before putting on your shirt.  Why?  It gives the scent a chance to dry into your skin, and not stain your clothes.  Perfume DOES stain after a while and sometimes it is very difficult to get the old scent out of cloth.

2. If the scent is very strong, and you're unsure about it, spritz some in the air and walk under the falling mist.  Then your hair and shoulders will be lightly scented.

3. If you wear silk-strung pearls- to extend the life of the pearls (they DO absorb scents if they are real!) put the perfume on FIRST, and pearls always go on last, and are taken off first.

4. Don't wear too much... PLEASE.

5. Unless you are going to be somewhere where you don't wash your hands often, don't bother putting perfume on your wrists.  You'll just wash it off and there goes wasted perfume.

6: Try to get real samples before you buy a big bottle for yourself! Then you get to see how your body works with them, then choose the best one and buy that!!!

Well, that's it for tonight! I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year!

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper for MAC Viva Glam

Hello~

I am a big fan of Lady Gaga and MAC, (no secret~!) so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw on MAC's website that she and Cyndi Lauper were this year's celebrity endorsers for their Viva Glam campaign.

I think both colors of lipstick are really pretty (Cyndi has a bluish red, Gaga a bright pink) as well as the rest of their makeup!  MAC has both looks up on their site to try, so those will be am upcoming video as well~!  Although you can't see it well in this picture, according to the instructions, Gaga's eyebrows are actually filled in with pink!

All proceeds of Viva Glam edition lipstick goes toward the fight against AIDS.  So look cute and help a good cause!

Another product review- 2 biore products, to be precise!

Hello!

I'm back with another product review!  I am going to review two Biore products- the Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub and a product I believe to be available mainly at Asian places- Men's Biore Nose Strips.

Here's the scrub

The pack of nose strips

Scrub:  I love the way this stuff SMELLS! Smells like melon!   However, I kind of don't like how it's not THAT sandy for a scrub.  You do feel some sand, but I think it could be a little grainer for those with more blackheads.   Still, rinses easily and you do feel clean and a bit of a tingle after it rinses off.  I recommend this for people who have light blackheads, like myself.  If you have severe blackheads, I'd recommend something more powerful.

Strips: Don't let the name fool you. What makes them "Men's" is the fact that these strips are bigger, made for bigger noses.  For me, they extend onto the outer edge of my T-zone so I can grab the buggers from my inner corners of my cheeks too.   I also think this is a mainly Japanese marketed item.  I get mine on Ebay or at  my local Japanese market.

Do they work? You betcha! I even tried them on a friend of mine with severe nose blackheads and we couldn't believe the stuff that got lifted out of there! Also tingles while it works to clean out the pores.   I highly recommend these for anyone. I use them on my chin too, when I get blackheads there.
