MAC Quite Cute Haul #2

Hi everyone!!!!

I have successfully got the rest of the MAC Quite Cute collection aside from the two sold out lipsticks and one of the liners which seemed too dark/brownish for my tastes and didn't seem to go with the rest of the collection or most of my lipsticks. (Boldly Bare Liner)

And of course, I took pictures of the new haul as well as a final group picture!  I also picked up a special gift for a friend- from the MAC Wonder Woman collection- the shadow quad in Defiance.

Clockwise from upper left: Wonder Woman Quad in Defiance, MAC shadow quad in Cutie, mineralize blush in giggly, sakura, and miss behave, plushglasses in Bubble Tea and Fashion Fanatic, and Lip Liner pencil in Naked Liner

And now out of the packaging:

Wonder Woman Quad closed and opened- Really shiny packaging!

Closeup from left to right: Miss Behave, Giggly, Sakura

Cutie Quad- from upper left and clockwise: Moshi Moshi, Goody Goody Gum Drop, Azuki Bean, Boycrazy

Naked Liner- It shows up that exact color on the skin- great for nude/pale colors.

Fashion Fanatic (left) and Bubble Tea (right) Fashion Fanatic in the pictures looks identical to Girl <3 Boy but in person you can see it's got sparkle/glitter in it and it's lighter.  Bubble Tea looks like it would look great with the Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick.

A final picture of the whole group:

I will be playing with these new toys and posting tips and tricks and swatches soon!  Stay tuned!

MAC Quite Cute Haul #1

Hi guys!

I stopped by MAC last night and picked up my goodies- and ended up going home with a little more thanks to the Back 2 MAC program.  I had 12 empty eyeshadow containers that I had depotted and ended up getting two of the lipsticks for free!

In the end, here is what I came home with:

Clockwise from top: Lip Liner in In Synch, lipsticks in Play Time, Quite Cute and St. Germain, Plushglasses in I <3 U and Girl <3 Boy.

Here's what they look like outside of the package- I haven't done swatches yet, I will probably do that when I get more of the collection, and do swatches of the rest of my MAC stuff.

In Synch Lip Liner- Light pink, lighter than your lips, good for light pastel pinkish colors to go over it.

Couldn't get a great pic of it up close but you can see it's very light.

St. Germain Lipstick- Very bright blue/pink

Quite Cute Lipstick- Light bluish purple

Play Time Lipstick- A purply magenta color

I <3 U Plushglass- Light purple- would look good over Quite Cute or bare lips. Going to experiment with other color combinations too.

Girl <3 Boy Plushglass- Light pink- looks different (to me) than the swatch of it on the MAC website.

It looks a lot like the Viva Glam Gaga lipglass I have but there is a subtle difference between them.  Also Plushglasses feel interesting when you wear them.  They tingle a bit and have a nice vanilla smell.

That's it for now, I should be getting more Quite Cute soon!

MAC Quite Cute Haul #1 Preview

Hi guys!

I am beginning to get items from the Quite Cute collection from MAC that just came out.  This time, I will discuss the lipsticks.

From left: Playing Koi, Saint Germain, Candy Yum Yum, Quite Cute, Play Time

I originally wanted all of these, however, I am out of luck when it comes to Playing Koi and Candy Yum Yum.  The other three colors I do have on hold for me to pick up tomorrow at my MAC store.  If any of you are willing to part with a Playing Koi or Candy Yum Yum (for less than the scalpers on Ebay) let me know!

I am so excited about getting these and I will do a swatch post when I get them tomorrow night.  I am also in progress of getting the rest of the collection- 4 Plushglasses (gloss), 3 blushes and an eyeshadow quad.  I'll keep you updated on this!

Have a great day everyone and stay tuned!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar

Hello-

I got some more goodies in the mail- Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars!

http://www.occmakeup.com/liptar.html

These are very highly pigmented lip colors and they can be easily mixed, they are more like a lip paint than a gloss.  They have a slight minty feeling on the lips, as they have peppermint oil in them, as well as hemp oil and vitamin E.  I got a few colors to try it out- Safety Orange, Feathered, Anime, Plum, Uber, Conquest, and NSFW.

Here they are on my desk!

When I say they are intense, I mean it.  And I am using HARDLY any, these are $12.50 for a reason.

Examples:

Anime

Feathered

Another really helpful tip- Put these on with a lip brush! They come with a tube that allows for lip application but being how intense these colors are, it looks better when applied more precisely.

A few days in to the new year now

Hello hello~

I hope you enjoyed my previous video for New Years, I am making another one soon.  However, I have hit a snag.  I need a DV/Firewire cable.  Why camcorder makers don't include this with the camera is beyond me... O___o

But the good news, future videos won't be just slideshows, but real videos with movement! YAY~!

So you broke your lipstick.... Me too! Let's fix it!

So I went to go use my MAC Hello Kitty Fashion Mews lipstick, one of those limited edition, you're-not-gettin'-it-no-morez shades... and snap! It had a crack in it!  Freaking out, I googled ways to fix lipstick, ranging from taking a lighter to it and pushing it together, to just giving up and making it into gloss, when I came across something called Lipstix Remix.

What is it?

Lipstix Remix (http://lipstixremix.com) is a kit that not only allows you to fix your broken or melted lipsticks, but also allows you to be creative, and mix colors you have to make new!  So I ordered it (It's 19.99, worth it considering my lipsticks are about 14.50 each...)

Here's how it went!

What you need:

Microwave

Lipstick holder, all cleaned out- Make sure to scrape out the base of the lipstick and save it! You'll need it or you won't have enough product to repair it properly!  (see pic)

Lipstick mold

Mixing cup with broken lipstick inside

Spatulas

Step 1: Scrape out all that lipstick into the cup!  (See Hello Kitty in there? She’s sad because she’s broken.  Sadder still, I can’t put her back on the lipstick. Oh well…)

Step 2: Put the cup in the microwave.

Step 3: Microwave for 45 seconds, or until the lipstick is liquid.

Step 3 a: In the meantime, snap together the lipstick mold and get it ready.

Step 4: Bend the cup into a spout and pour the liquid into the top of the mold. It hardens quick, so time is of the essence.  It doesn’t have to be 100% full (as you can see with mine) but close to it or there won’t be enough.

Step 5: Put the mold on a level surface in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.

Step 6: Unscrew the top off carefully.  There should be some lipstick sticking out.

Step 7: CAREFULLY slide the base into the clean lipstick container then JUST as carefully work the sides of the mold off. Make sure the base is in securely.

Step 8: Screw the lipstick all the way down and put it away! You fixed it!

Your lipstick is now ready to use!  Now instead of buying a replacement, you can get a totally new color!

I hope you enjoyed!
