My every day look

Hi everyone!

Sure, we all have our fancy going-out looks, but what about your every day look?  I would like to share mine, I actually discovered it by watching someone else's video and making it my own (my products, etc).

This video actually got me interested in the BeautyBlender (which I later bought and will review later).

Here's my product list for this look- All are MAC except where otherwise noted.

Face

As a base (she doesn't use one) Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream

In dry weather:
Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC25

In humid weather
Studio Fix  powder in NC25

Tenderling blush

Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle

Eyes:

Eyeshadow in Crystal Avalanche

Fluidline Gel Liner in Blacktrack

Eye Kohl in Fascinating (for my lower waterline- she does not do this)

Shiseido Lash Curler

Plushlash Mascara in Plushblack

Lips:

Lip Pencil in Subculture

When I decide to wear gloss I wear one of the following:

Prr
Glam Gaga

When I want to wear lipstick:

Creme Cup
Glam Gaga 2
Snob
Creme D'Nude

Even though this look is called "Korean Makeup" in the video, it looks good on me, a white girl as well. I get a lot of compliments when I do my face like this, so give it a try!

Summer is here... And so is another contest!

Hello~

My finals are finally over, so now I can focus a bit more on this lovely blog of mine (at least for the summer!)

Also- For the month of June, I will be having another giveaway contest!

You may have heard me talk about or mention in my other tutorials something called BB Cream.  BB cream is currently all the rage in Korea, Japan, China, and other parts of Asia.

It is used as a base under makeup or alone on bare skin.  It supposedly helps improve your skin over time with use.  However, it is NOT a moisturizer, like in a skincare regime.  For me, it works great under my foundation, in particular my airbrush foundation.  It makes my skin tone look more even, even with other makeup on.  Also, many of them contain sunscreen, which is a huge plus!

For the month of June, entries will be accepted for a chance to win their own tube of Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream (one of the most popular in Korea right now~!) to try!

What's the catch?  Since the goal of BB Cream is to improve your natural skin, I want to see your best natural look with makeup!

I will be putting up another YouTube video with rules and how to enter.  You can also enter another way.

1. Make yourself all pretty and natural!
2. Take pictures of your masterpiece!
3. Email pictures to me at obeybeauty@yahoo.com.
4. Don't forget to list all of the products you used, so that others can duplicate it~

The other way is to make me a nice video of your hard work.   Any technique is welcome- I can even learn new things from you as well!

So don't be shy! Enter! I will choose 1 winner, 2 if there are many entries!

Any questions, please email them to me, send me a message on YouTube, or even comment here~

Good luck!

Brushguards!

Hello!

I was looking through youtube and I came across a video by EnKoreMakeup about something called the brushguard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mDad4yNuGc

The can also be ordered at thebrushguard.com.  They're not pricey either, 5.50 per pack and FREE SHIPPING! (At least in the US)

It's a nifty  new thing for those of us who want to protect our investments (brushes) by keeping the bristles from getting messed up.

Another neat feature is that you can slide them up the handle and protect the logo from rubbing off (if you have MAC brushes like I do, this is annoying!  Too bad 2 of mine already rubbed off... T_T) .  He also mentions putting clear nail top coat over the engraving, so I did that also.

I ordered my brushguards, I will blog about them and take pics/review when they get here! ^o^

A few days in to the new year now

Hello hello~

I hope you enjoyed my previous video for New Years, I am making another one soon.  However, I have hit a snag.  I need a DV/Firewire cable.  Why camcorder makers don't include this with the camera is beyond me... O___o

But the good news, future videos won't be just slideshows, but real videos with movement! YAY~!

So, please keep in touch-

MAC Hello Kitty Stately Black

MAC Hello Kitty Stately Black Look

Hello!

Today, I am going to show you how to create the Stately Black look from MAC's recent Hello Kitty Collection. There is also a video on this on my YouTube channel!

Here is what the look looks like on paper

(Mac Picture)

And here is my result

(My pic)

This is also a great look for New Year's Eve, ladies!

I did it SLIGHTLY different. I am using two different products than what MAC suggests.

In place of Phone Number eye kohl, I am using Paint Pot in blackground. This also exaggerates the sparkle in the Stately Black shadow!

In place of the Tippy blush (I was sadly unable to get it) I am using my usual Tenderling blush. Use whatever blush suits your skin.

Here's what you need/I used

Face

1.Studio Sculpt Concealer
2.Studio Sculpt Liquid foundation (they do not specify for the concealer or foundation)
3.Tenderling blush

Eyes

1.Paint Pot in Blackground
2.Hello Kitty Too Dolly shadow quad
3.Carbon eye shadow
4.Technakohl liner in Smoothblue
5.Plushlash Mascara in Plushblack
6.False lashes (optional)

Lips

1.Lipliner in subculture
2.Lipstick in Fashion Mews
3.Lustreglass in Luminary

Let's Begin!

Step 1

Prime, conceal and apply foundation to your face.

Step 2

LIGHTLY contour your cheeks with blush.

Step 3

Apply blackground on your lids ONLY.

Step 4

Apply Stately Black shadow over the paint pot to set it, and blend more shadow up into your crease to create a smoky look.

Step 5

Apply Yogurt shadow on the browbone for highlighting.

Step 6

Taking a flat angled brush, create a line of carbon shadow on the lashline as if you were applying eyeliner. Do not smudge it.

Step 7

With a flat angled brush, line the lower lid with Stately Black, smudging it a little to make it smoky.

Step 8

Apply Smoothblue to the waterline.

Step 9

Curl and coat your lashes (upper and lower) with mascara. Optional- apply false lashes.

Step 10

Optional- fill in your eyebrows with powder or stick matching your color.

Step 11

Line the lips with subculture liner.

Step 12

Apply Fashion Mews lipstick.

Step 13

Apply a coat of Luminary Lustreglass over the lipstick. Tip: I put the gloss on a lip brush and then put it on over the lipstick, so as not to contaminate the tube of gloss with foreign lipstick color.

And you're done! I hope you enjoyed it, and Happy New Year!

Love,

ObeyBeauty
