OXY Clinical Acne Treatments

Hello everyone-

I got a sample in the mail the other day of Oxy Clinical, Oxy's latest skin care system.

It came with a small sample of the cleanser and acne treatments, and it looks interesting to me.

The information provided with it claims that in most cleansers that contain salycilic acid (main ingredient in a lot of acne washes and treatments), the medication washes off when you rinse your face.  Their product, however, claims that at least 80% of the medication stays on the skin after rinsing. Sounds pretty good.

The treatment's active ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide, which this product also claims theirs is more long lasting and deeper penetrating than the average benzoyl peroxide treatment.

Does it work? I have yet to test it myself.  Depending on how the samples make my skin feel, I may buy an actual kit and give it a run for its money.  I usually use Shiseido Pureness (which is the only thing to really consistently keep my skin clear, lately I have had the tendency to be blackhead city) so I wonder how the Oxy Clinical, a drugstore brand, compares.

Have any of you guys used this or tried it yet? Comment below if you have!

Have a great Friday and have a great weekend!

Product Review: Biore Pore Perfect Ice Cleanser

Hello everyone!

I picked up another face cleanser at the store (I do that a lot, I know.) and this one had my interest for a while but I never got around to getting it until recently. What is it? Biore Pore Perfect Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser (whew!)

Packaging: Comes in a nice green pump bottle. No complaints.
Texture: No granules or "sandy" feeling. It's a regular liquid cleanser.
How does it feel: It's called an Ice cleanser for a reason.  It gives a pleasant cool tingle on the face and leaves the face feeling very clean.  It may dry the skin a little because it contains salicylic acid, a common acne medication.

I've used it for a week now, and I can say it's a very good product. It was also given great reviews by editors at Allure Magazine. The product also claims that it works 60% better than the Proactiv system, which sadly, I cannot review because I tried it once and it felt like it was burning my skin.

Price: around $10 USD per bottle.

Another product review- 2 biore products, to be precise!

Hello!

I'm back with another product review!  I am going to review two Biore products- the Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub and a product I believe to be available mainly at Asian places- Men's Biore Nose Strips.

Here's the scrub

The pack of nose strips

Scrub:  I love the way this stuff SMELLS! Smells like melon!   However, I kind of don't like how it's not THAT sandy for a scrub.  You do feel some sand, but I think it could be a little grainer for those with more blackheads.   Still, rinses easily and you do feel clean and a bit of a tingle after it rinses off.  I recommend this for people who have light blackheads, like myself.  If you have severe blackheads, I'd recommend something more powerful.

Strips: Don't let the name fool you. What makes them "Men's" is the fact that these strips are bigger, made for bigger noses.  For me, they extend onto the outer edge of my T-zone so I can grab the buggers from my inner corners of my cheeks too.   I also think this is a mainly Japanese marketed item.  I get mine on Ebay or at  my local Japanese market.

Do they work? You betcha! I even tried them on a friend of mine with severe nose blackheads and we couldn't believe the stuff that got lifted out of there! Also tingles while it works to clean out the pores.   I highly recommend these for anyone. I use them on my chin too, when I get blackheads there.

Mmmmm.... Grapefruit~

Hello!

So far, everything I have reviewed has been more higher end, department store product.  Today, I have one for a drugstore item!  Two, in fact.

I picked up Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash and Body Clear- both with the pink grapefruit extract.

The acne wash

Body Clear

Both products have 2% salicylic acid, meaning they are both for treating acne, be it on the face or body.  They smell GREAT and both leave you feeling really clean, even if you have no acne to begin with.   Next, I may try the body clear scub in the same scent.   Cost wise, they are KIND OF high for drugstore items, I think each one was between $7-9.00.  In either case, highly recommended!  I do however, wish Neutrogena made a toner and moisturizer with the grapefruit. ^^

Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Paper Review

Time for another review!

I forgot to include this little extra in my Shiseido Pureness Review. This review is on the Oil Control Blotting sheets (Pictured)

For about 15 dollars, you get a little plastic booklet that hold a box of oil blotting papers for your face. They also leave a light powder on your skin to prevent more oil from showing up. After using on oily skin, you can see where the oil got soaked because you can kind of see through the paper. It reminds me of this part from the Simpsons when Homer is trying to gain weight.

The part that reminds me of it is about 0:50, where Bart rubs a burger on a wall and it turns clear. ^^

I've been using these for a while, they fit discreetly in your purse or pocket, and can be used over makeup without messing it up! If you have oily skin, I strongly recommend these, as well as combination skin like mine. If you're more dry, then these won't do much except maybe dry out more.
